23-Aug-2025: What They Don’t Want You To Know About a Seared Conscience
Opening Prayer
Introduction:
When people ask, “When will the world end?”, they are often looking in the wrong direction. The truth is startling, and yet freeing: The world does not end. God’s Grace does. The “end of the world” that people speak of is better understood as the end of the age — the end of God’s Patience, Grace, and the Open Door of Salvation.
Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- God does have a limit of tolerating sin. He can only tolerate so much. Look at the earth in the days of Noah. God regretted creating humans because they became so evil.
Wickedness in the World
Genesis 6:1-8
When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.” 4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. 5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
- The verse that states God regretted making man is found in Genesis 6:6.
- It reads, “The Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.”.
- This verse is part of the larger narrative in Genesis about the wickedness of humanity before the flood.
- This could be a way of describing God’s feelings in human terms.
- Some Bible scholars explain that God, being omniscient, would not have made a mistake. Instead, the verse highlights the magnitude of human sin and God’s sorrow over it.
- It’s not a reflection of God’s inability to foresee the future or a change in His nature, but rather a way to convey the depth of His disappointment and grief at humanity’s actions.
- The Hebrew word used in Genesis 6:6, “nacham,” can mean “to be sorry,” “to console oneself,” or even “to avenge oneself”. In this context, it signifies God’s deep sorrow and pain at the evil that had permeated human society, which led him to decide on the flood.
Matthew 5:5
“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”
- Why would Jesus say the meek will inherit the earth if the earth itself was destined to disappear forever?
- The End of the Age, Not the End of the World: Matthew 28:18-20 “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- God’s Grace has a limit. The age ends — not the earth. When the age of grace ends, judgment begins. The door of mercy that was wide open will one day close.
Isaiah 55:6
“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.”
- The Great White Throne Judgment: There will come a time when humanity will stand before the Great White Throne.
The Judgment of the Dead
Revelation 20:11-15
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
- Books will be opened. Deeds will be exposed. And most importantly, The Book of Life will be referenced. If your name isn’t found there, you are not going in.
John 14:15
“If you love me, keep my commands.
- This passage describes The Final Judgment before God, where all the dead — regardless of status — are resurrected and judged.
- God sits on a great white throne, and the earth and heavens flee from His presence.
- Multiple books are opened, including the Book of Life, and people are judged based on their deeds recorded in them.
- Even the sea, death, and Hades give up their dead.
- Ultimately, anyone whose name is not found in the Book of Life is thrown into the lake of fire, symbolizing the second death—eternal separation from God.
We Are Already in the Last Days: Since the day of Pentecost, we have been in the “last days.”
Acts 2:17
“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people…”
-
But even as God pours out His Spirit, wickedness also increases. And one of the results is the most terrifying spiritual condition: a seared conscience.
-
Signs of the End Are Increasing:
Matthew 24:7-8
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
- These verses describe early warning signs of the end times, referred to as the “beginning of sorrows” or birth pains.
- Jesus lists wars and conflicts between nations, famines, and earthquakes in various places as indicators that significant global turmoil is coming.
- However, these events are not the end themselves, but rather a prelude to greater tribulation yet to come.
Matthew 24:9
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.
- Hatred for Christians will grow: “You will be hated by all nations because of Me.”
Matthew 24:12
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.
- We see this today. Churches are empty. Compromise is rampant. Morals are redefined.
- Christians are either persecuted or silenced. This is not progress; this is prophecy.
- But the Gospel Will Be Preached:
- Matthew 24:14
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world… and then the end will come.”
- Despite the darkness, God’s light still shines. The Gospel is spreading globally. This is not a time for panic — it’s a time for preparation.
The Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10–20
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
- The True Battlefield Is the Mind: Ephesians 6:10–20 We’re told to “put on” the armor of God — not once a year, but daily.
- Why? Because the enemy doesn’t take days off. Especially focus on: Ephesians 6:17 “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”
- The helmet guards the mind — where the battle truly happens. If the devil can damage your mind, he can destroy your walk.
- The Seared Conscience: 1 Timothy 4:1-2 “Some will abandon the faith… their consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.”
- You can’t abandon what you were never part of.
- These are believers who were once in the faith — now deceived by false doctrines and seducing spirits.
- A seared conscience is not merely hardened — it’s deadened. No conviction. No remorse.
- No sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
- This is what the enemy wants: a spiritually numb church.
- Sin Leaves a Memory: Even after forgiveness, sin leaves scars — especially in the mind.
- God may forgive you, but you might still remember what you did 10 or 20 years ago.
- This is why we must guard our minds — not just from evil, but from the ghosts of past sin.
- It’s not just about being forgiven — it’s about being mentally and spiritually free.
Your Response Matters Now
- You don’t put armor on during the battle. You put it on before.
- Don’t wait for the crisis to start seeking God. Don’t wait until the noise of this world drowns out the still small voice of the Spirit. Because eventually…
- The door will close, The Grace will end and The judgment will begin.
What They Don’t Want You to Know: What the devil, the world, and false teachers don’t want you to realize — is that:
- Your conscience can be destroyed. God’s Grace has an expiration date. The Word is your only weapon. Armor is your only protection. You cannot fight in your own strength.
- But the good news is this: Jesus Christ is still Lord. He is still calling. He is still saving.
- The world may not end, but your time of grace might. He’s after your conscience. And God isn’t asking for perfection — He’s asking for preparation.
- So wake up, armor up, and guard your conscience — before it’s too late.
Matthew 11:15 “
He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
- Pray to God and ask Him to Restore the broken places.
- We need to strengthen ourselves in order to stand.
- Put on the full armor of God by reading His Word and using it to fight off the enemy.
God Bless you all in The Mighty Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
