11-Oct-2025: God Has Given You Supernatural Authority
Opening Prayer
Introduction
Exodus 14:14
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name.
Luke 10:19
**“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
- Today, we live in a world filled with spiritual warfare, unseen dangers, and the weight of uncertainty.
- But for the believer, there is a powerful truth we must never forget:
- You are not helpless.
- You are not powerless.
- God has given you supernatural authority.
- This authority is not based on your strength, your talent, or your resources — it is based on who you belong to. And if you belong to Christ, the authority that Jesus won on the cross now lives in you.
You Are Valuable to God
Before we talk about authority, we must settle this truth in our hearts. You are precious to God. Anything valuable is protected.
Job 1:9-10
“Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.
- Job 1:9-10 shows us that Satan recognized the hedge around Job — his life, his family, and everything he had.
Psalm 125:2
“As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people both now and forevermore.”
Even before you knew God, He was watching over you. You are not just another person on earth — you are God’s child, and He fiercely guards what belongs to Him.
God Protects and Empowers You in Many Ways
Let’s look at the layers of divine protection and empowerment that surround your life.
God watches over you constantly:
2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”
- God’s surveillance system is better than any security camera — you are never out of His sight.
Romans 8:31
“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
God assigns angels to you:
Psalm 91:11
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
2 Kings 6:17
Elisha’s servant saw the armies of heaven all around them.
- You are surrounded — even when you can’t see it. God Guides You by His Spirit
Romans 8:14
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
- Many of you have experienced it — an inner nudge, a “don’t go there,” a sense of urgency to pray. That’s protection through divine guidance. God Covers You With The Blood of Jesus.
Revelation 12:11
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb…”
Exodus 12:13
“When I see the blood, I will pass over you.”
- It is not enough to know the blood was shed — you must apply it. Speak it. Declare it. Live under its covering.
God Gives You Authority Over the Enemy
Luke 10:19
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
- This verse is not symbolic — it is spiritual reality. The devil wants you to live like a victim. But Jesus says, “I give you authority.” This authority is not arrogance; it is divine empowerment through relationship with Christ. You are not just saved to survive — you are saved to stand, to fight, and to conquer.
James 4:7
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Be Strong and Fight the Good Fight
Ephesians 6:10-12
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
- You are in a battle. It’s not optional. The Armor of God is not a suggestion — it is a necessity.
Romans 16:20
“The God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.”
- Peace doesn’t always mean passive. Sometimes peace means warfare in the spirit to enforce victory. Walk Boldly in Your Divine Assignment.
Proverbs 28:1
“The righteous are as bold as a lion.”
- Don’t shrink back. Don’t let false humility rob you of your authority. **Romans 12:3 **Think soberly, not proudly — but own your God-given calling.
1 Timothy 4:14
Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
- 1 Timothy 4:14 is a direct instruction from the Apostle Paul to Timothy, urging him not to neglect the spiritual gift God had placed within him.
- This gift was affirmed through prophetic revelation and the laying on of hands by church elders, symbolizing Timothy’s official calling and empowerment for ministry.
- Paul’s command comes in the context of Timothy being a young leader in a challenging pastoral role in Ephesus.
- There may have been pressures, doubts, or opposition because of his youth, but Paul encourages him to actively develop and use his God-given gifts.
- Spiritual gifts must not be ignored or left unused. Prophetic words and leadership affirmation played a role in recognizing Timothy’s calling.
- The laying on of hands signifies spiritual commissioning and empowerment.
- Paul’s instruction is a call to boldness, diligence, and faithful ministry despite age or opposition. It reminds all believers that gifts from God come with responsibility — they are meant to be used for the building up of the church.
- God gave it to you for a reason. Use it!
The Authority Comes from Christ Alone
Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
- Jesus didn’t keep the authority — He delegated it. You have been commissioned with power to represent The Kingdom.
Trust God and Don’t Fear
John 16:33
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…”
Fear may be all around you — but authority is within you.
- You are not a victim.
- You are not weak.
- You are a child of God, filled with the Holy Spirit, covered by the Blood, and backed by heaven’s army.
You are:
- Surrounded by His Eyes
- Guarded by His Angels
- Protected by His Hedge
- Guided by His Spirit
- Covered by His Blood.
Now walk in the supernatural authority He has given you. Pray daily – not out of fear, but to enforce your authority. Speak the Word – declare scriptures of protection and victory. Apply the Blood – cover your family, your mind, and your future in prayer. Stand firm – when attacks come, don’t cower. Resist and fight with the Word.
Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
- You have authority because you are in Christ.
- Be bold.
- Be confident.
- Be strong in the Lord.
God Bless you all in The Mighty Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
